Sherlock Holmes: The True Story

This is a documentary, which focuses almost entirely on Dr. Joseph Bell, the inspiration for Doyle's Holmes.

I have no idea who first made this documentary, as I downloaded it without credits. Still, I was completely enthralled by it. It was interesting, and touching, and the references to Holmes (and Doyle, and even Watson) moved me, often, to tears.

I'm not sure how easy it is to get a hold of (although I found it on isohunt, if that helps), but I highly recommend seeing it. It gave some incredible insight into Victorian London, and the state of medicine and scientific investigation at the time. It also broadened my understanding of Doyle, and even Holmes, in a way, as there is something to be said for knowing the origin of a creation.

I really don't have much else to say on the subject, but I will repeat that this is worth seeing. Of al the things I've seen/read in the past few days, I'm fairly certain this tops my list.
