I confess, I didn’t read this cover to cover. It would have put me to sleep to even attempt such a thing. But, that being said, the book is ripe with useful information.

There’s a who’s-who guide. A summary of plots. Quotes, broken out by relevant topics. Insight into Holmes, and Watson, and Holmes and Watson. And a small section on the author.

A very handy resource, and while I’ll never agree with scholars that try to give Holmes a romantic side, I still think it proved quite useful.

In fact, I found it so useful that I think I’ll try to purchase a copy. If it’s still in publication, that is.

There really isn’t much else to say about this book; it makes for an incredibly reference guide, but that’s about it.
